Congratulations are in order for two of our students that received major honours outside of the school. Ashneil Dutt was awarded the Edmonton Public Schools CTS Award; on Monday, June 20, Ashneil showcased his knowledge of the Business, Administration, Finance & Information Technology (BIT) employment area. He was required to submit work samples to demonstrate his learning and mastery of the knowledge, skills and processes acquired through participation in the Career and Technology Studies classes. He then met with a selection committee and explained his growth in this employment area. In order to qualify for this award he had to have a minimum of 15 CTS credits, with five at the advanced level. He has studied both Financial Management and Computer Applications at Shep from the introductory through to the advanced levels and earned honours in 25 different 1-credit CTS courses! Well done, Ashneil.

Also honoured was Brittany Lissina, who we mentioned earlier as a nominee in the youth category for the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards. On June 9, Brittany was named the winner of that award in celebration of her incredible achivements. Brittany has been a leader throughout her time at Ross Sheppard in academics, as a full International Baccalaureate graduate, in community and school service as well as in extracurricular activities such as athletics and band. She was also the winner of the Ross Sheppard Leadership Trophy this year and we are very thankful to have had her around for the last 3 years. Congrats Brittany!
